Waiver is to 5,000' AGL

Waiver is open from 9AM - 6PM

Range Setup is 8-9AM *all help is welcome

Cost: $15.00

Port O'John will be onsite for everyone

FOOD: There will not be a food vendor for this event.

We are looking to have a POT LUCK lunch at the field as were not going to get pizza after the launch.

Please RSVP with the club president of what item your bringing so we have an idea and avoid duplicates.

POT LUCK LUNCH is moved to SUNDAY!

Launch Control Announcers can be of any age and power level

RSO must be a L2 TRA or NAR member in good standings.

PREFECT is the RANGE BOSS for the event. Event is managed by CTRA PRESIDENT.

On a first come 1st serve basis we have some back issues of extreme rocketry to hand out for those who attend.

CTRA/NARCONN is
privileged to have the use of several adjoining fields located on a
large private farm in Hurley, New York, located about 10 minutes south
west of Kingston, NY. (this site is located near a very busy air
corridor)

Waiver open from
9AM to 6PM to 5,000' AGL with a K impulse limit.(AGL = Above Ground Level)

Motor
Limit: "K" motors, BFR projects are subject to conditions and the
approval of the Prefect.

Must conform to
altitude limit.
Weight Limit: There is no stated weight limit but Rockets must be within
safety limits of flight profile.5:1 Trust to Weight RATIO!

NOTICE: Launch site is located on private property, please respect the
property owners rights and only visit or use the field during scheduled
club launches.

Children group rates can be
arranged for scouts and 4H please contact president a week in
advance.Please provide 1-2 weeks notice

CTRA MEMBERSHIP this year is increased
to $30

Flyers fee was reduced to $10 per adult CTRA MEMBER.

A NON MEMBER flying HPR can fly once with us for $15.00 as an introduction
to the club then membership is
required.

MODEL and low power A-E off the model pads is $5.oo for youths with adult supervision.
Family Membership plans are available, please inquire with club treasure
before mailing a
check.

Reason for the CTRA MEMBERSHIP dues increase to $30 for 2011 Membership dues were increased to lower the flight fee and cover the expense of the Port O' John, keep the launch equipment functional and most important to assist in the purchase of a SEA CONTAINER for on-site storage.

Safety: Power Lines Kill

Both the Model
Rocket and High Power Rocket
Safety Codes of the NAR contain the rule "I will not attempt to recover
my rocket from power lines, tall trees, or other dangerous places." The
only fatalities that our hobby has ever experienced have been to fliers
(none of them NAR members) who did not follow this rule. Sadly, the
list of people who have died while trying to recover a rocket from a
power line now has another entry. Ted Fewer of Calgary (Canada) died on
May 4 from massive injuries suffered while standing on a ladder and
using a launch rod to snag the shock cord of a rocket that he had landed
on a power line. This is the fifth fatality that we know of to a
person trying to remove a rocket from a power line.

If you see a rocket land on a power line, do NOT try to
remove it yourself. Call the power company and let them know
it is there; they probably need to remove it in order to prevent a
service disruption and to prevent passers-by from trying to get it down
as a souvenir, and they may charge you for coming out, but it is better
that having someone get killed for a rocket.

FROM POINTS SOUTH and NORTH: Take local routes to I-84 New York Exit 7A
1) Take ramp onto I-87 toward New York Thruway-go 31.6 mi

2) Take exit #19 (RT-28) West

3) In about 1 mi you will pass RT-209

4) Continue on RT-28 1.0 mi pass RT-209 exit then

5) Make a left onto Hurley Mountain Rd.

6) In 3.9 mi you will arrive at 1875 Hurley Mountain Rd., This is Gill Corn Farms.

7) Make a left onto the property and take the dirt road out onto the corn field.
SPEED LIMIT is 5MPH, please help keep dust to a minimal and remember there are children at play so drive careful.
ALTERNATE ROUTE if your in need of FUEL or SNACKS on way to field.
After toll gate at Exit 19 , stay in the right lane (RT-28 West)

Take Exit 209 South towards ELLENVILLE.
This exit is curvy, so go slow and there is a quick merge so be alert!
After turn,Keep going straight!
You will pass STATE TROOPERS BARRACKS on the left “GO SLOW”
Prepare to Turn Right on Wynkoop RD (CR-29A).

After passing the Hurley Mountain Inn and going over the bridge the road will come to a T.
Turn LEFT onto Hurley Mountain Road!

You will arrive at 1875 Hurley Mountain Rd., This is Gill Corn Farms.

About The Club

CTRA/NARCONN is a local model rocket club encompassing members from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and throughout New England. The club was started in Bridgeport, Connecticut by three members in 1989. We have developed into a nationally renown organization providing rocketry hobbyists with a wealth of fun, learning and safely run launches for all ages, as well as lectures, demonstrations and technical contributions.

We are a recognized prefecture with the Tripoli Rocketry Association, Inc. and a chartered section with the National Association of Rocketry. We highly recommend joining these organizations to support them as well, and to learn and expand your model rocket experiences. Both organizations have periodical magazines. Applications will be available at our monthly meetings.

Club meetings are usually held on the first Sunday of designated months at 12 noon. We discuss club issues, hobby news, review the club schedule and give short lectures and demonstrations. Please contact one of our officers for further information. The club promotes participation and involvement.

We sponsor more than a dozen launches per year at three different locations. Non-members wishing to fly can contact one of the club officers for information and directions to the launch sites.

Our Model and High Power Rocket Flight Procedure is based on the National Organizations' operating procedures as set forth in their respective safety codes. Safety is our top priority for members, guests, land owners and spectators. In addition we have CTRA/NARCONN Field Use and Launch Guidelines and CTRA/NARCONN Bylaws outlining club rules. We are an insured corporation and we also insure the respective landowners of our launch sites.

Please come and participate, get involved, tell others who may be interested in joining us, and feel free to call any of the officers to answer any questions or comments that you may have.
